The Limnatis Village Annual Blooming Trees Festival traditionally begins the Cyprus festivals season. The festival is timed to coincide with the literally thousands of blooming almond trees surrounding the village. The surrounding area is a splash of pink and white colours,  along with the pleasant smell of the blossoms drifting in the air.

The festival this year will be held on 04 March 2018 and is organised once again by the Community Council and the Community Complex of the Kouris and Xylourikos Valley.

The festival programme includes musicians playing traditional Cypriot folk songs and accompanied by a variety of local Cypriot folk dancing groups, many of which are from local schools.

The many stalls offer a wide variety of Cypriot foods such as lamb kleftiko, pork and chicken souvlaki, halloumi, soutzoukos, palouze, pastelli, loukanika and pastourma sausages, freshly baked bread and much, much more. The locally made honey is also very popular, along with the traditional sweets.

The Limnatis Village Community Council will provide a bus transfer from Limassol to Limnatis Village. The bus will depart from the Cyprus Tourist Office Information Office, Georgiou A' 22, Potamos Germasogeias, Limassol. The office is located at the eastern entrance of Dasoudi Beach and there is a car par nearby.

The departure time from Limassol will be at 1030 and the return trip from Limnatis Village will depart at 1430. The cost will be €5,00 per person and must be booked in advance, as seats are in limited supply and subject to availability. Reservations may be made in person at the office or by calling 00357 25 323 211

The above details are subject to change, and we advise contacting the Cyprus Tourist Office for confirmation of any changes.
