1. President of Kyrgyzstan says he wants to visit Cyprus

President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev expressed his wish to visit Cyprus, while praising the good level of bilateral relations between the two countries. He was speaking during a ceremony held last Friday, October 27, in the capital, Bishkek, where the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Russian Federation, Leonidas Markides, presented his credentials.

2. Knesset Speaker to hold official visit to Cyprus, ahead of tripartite meeting

Speaker of the Israeli Parliament (Knesset) Yuli-Yoel Edelstein arrives in Cyprus on November 1 for a one-day official visit, at the invitation of President of the House of Representatives Demetris Syllouris. Edelstein will remain in Cyprus after the visit in order to participate in the 2nd Tripartite Meeting of the Presidents of Parliament of Cyprus, Greece, and Israel, on November 2.

3. Foreign Minister to participate in conference on religious pluralism ιν Athens

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Kasoulides will participate in the 2nd International Conference on `Religious and Cultural Pluralism and Peaceful Coexistence in the Middle East`, that takes place in Athens 30 and 31 of October. Kasoulides will brief delegates on Cyprus` contribution in combating terrorism and tackling asymmetric threats and stress the need to protect religious minorities, particularly Christians in the Middle East.

4. Defence Minister pays official visit to Lebanon

Defence Minister Christoforos Fokaides pays an official visit to Beirut, at the invitation of his Lebanese counterpart Yaacoub El Sarraf. The visit takes place just after the official visit of the Lebanese Prime Minister in Cyprus last Saturday and the announcement that Cyprus will be delivering a new military assistance package to the Lebanese Armed Forces. During the visit, the two countries will sing an agreement for the exchange of classified information.

5. AEK in first place, Anorthosis still unbeaten, new losses for APOEL in match day 10

The draw between Anorthosis and Omonia at extra time, the victory of Apollonas over Doxa, the win of AEK over Alki, and the new losses for APOEL, are the most important results of match day 10 in Cyprus’ football championship. The results: Ethnikos Ahnas – APOEL 1-1, Omonia – Anorthosis 1-1, Alki – AEK 0-1, Apollon – Doxa 4-2, Paphos – Aris 0-0, Olympiakos – Nea Salamina 1-1, Ermis – AEL 0-1.CNA
