1. Cyprus President to meet with Egyptian counterpart and Greek Premier in Nicosia in November

Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades will meet with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras in a trilateral summit to take place in Nicosia in November, Cyprus`s Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulidis told Ahram Al-Arabi magazine on Thursday. The Cypriot Foreign Minister said that the three heads of state will discuss the latest regional developments as well as economic and political cooperation between the three countries.

We must not repeat the mistakes of the past and we have to remain disciplined in our effort to continue on a steady growth path, President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades has said. Addressing on Friday evening the 37th Lefkara Festival, in Larnaca District, the President of the Republic referred to the economic crisis and the problems it brought about, noting at the same time that what matters now is to look ahead.

3. Digitalized “Cyprus File” to be handed over to the Hellenic Parliament

A committee of experts and officials from the Cyprus House of Representatives concluded on Friday the digitalization of the “Cyprus File”, consisting of archive material regarding the 1974 coup d’ Etat and the subsequent Turkish invasion in Cyprus. The material will be delivered to the Hellenic Parliament.

4. Citizens from Turkish-occupied Kythrea tell UN SG they are determined to return home

Citizens from Turkish-occupied Kythrea and six surrounding villages addressed Friday a resolution to the UN Secretary General, declaring their determination to return to their homeland amid conditions of peace and security, and condemned the continuous breach of their human rights by Turkey. The resolution was handed over to an UNFICYP official.

5. Hoteliers satisfied with occupancy, Hoteliers Association President says

Hoteliers are quite pleased with hotel occupancy, according to the President of the Pancyprian Hoteliers Association (PASYXE), Haris Loizides."Exact percentages cannot be given at present as we are still in the holiday season, but in general we are satisfied because occupancy is very high for this period", Loizides said responding to CNA questions.Things look good for September and October and occupancy is high for these two months too, he added.CNA
