1. President Anastasiades says UN envoy adopts unilateral positions

President Anastasiades expressed on Sunday sorrow over the fact that the Special Adviser to the UN Secretary General Espen Barth Eide, tends to adopt positions expressed from one side in Cyprus, without listening first. The President was invited to comment on inrecent statements by Eide, he noted that it has been said repeatedly that this is a Cypriot-owned dialogue, and that the deal was not to have arbitration or timetables. Eide needs to realize that "with these statements or such an intimidation, we achieve the opposite results" the President noted, adding that "the less said, particularly on behalf of Eide, the better".

2. SG calls on leaders and interested parties to do their utmost to bring the process to a successful conclusion

Given the risk of the process running out of time, the Secretary-General called again on the leaders and all interested parties to do their utmost to bring the process to a successful conclusion, for the benefit of all Cypriots, his Spokesman has said, invited to comment on the meeting UNSG Envoy Espen Barth Eide had on Friday with SG Antonio Guterres.

3. Cyprus` sustainable development is a priority, President says

The government will continue to work to keep Cyprus on the path of sustainable development, Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades said on Saturday, while assuring business people that the government will stand next to them. The President was addressing a ceremony in the southern, coastal town of Limassol, inaugurating the Industrial Museum of the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).

4. FM Permanent Secretary concludes Washington visit

Cyprus-US bilateral relations are deepening and expanding on all levels, Alexandros Zenon, Permanent Secretary of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Cyprus has said after talks in Washington. Zenon concluded on Friday a series of contacts with officials from the State Department, the National Security Council and the Pentagon, while also meeting with members of the US Congress.

5. Cypriot athlete wins silver medal in world rowing championship

Alexandros Zisimides, of the National Rowing Team, won the silver medal at the World Rowing Championship which takes place in Ghent, Belgium. Zisimides competed in the U23 category. In the afternoon the Cypriot athlete will take part in another final in Ghent.CNA
