1. Weekly leaders` meetings obviously aimed at returning to Geneva, says UN Spokesperson
Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, has said that the weekly meetings set up by UN SG`s Special Adviser on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide between the leaders and the negotiating parties in the context of the Cyprus reunification talks are obviously aimed towards a return to Geneva.
2. Greek Foreign Minister refers to possible meeting on Cyprus in March
Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Kotzias referred to the chance of a meeting between the Foreign Ministers of the guarantor powers in Cyprus, the President of the Republic of Cyprus and the representative of the Turkish Cypriot community, speaking to the press in Brussels, where he took part at the External Affairs Council of the EU 28.
3. President to address AJC Global Forum 2017
President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades has confirmed that he will address the American Jewish Committee (AJC) Global Forum, scheduled for June 4-6, in Washington, D.C, a press release of the AJC has said.
4. Juncker expresses his strong technical and political support on the Cyprus negotiations
Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, expressed once again "the strong support of the European Commission in the negotiations for a Cyprus settlement" and the hope that these will lead to a comprehensive settlement for the benefit of all parties concerned", in reply to a common letter by the Vice President of the European Parliament Dimitris Papadimoulis and MEP Takis Hadjigeorgiou.

Cyprus Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides briefed today his EU counterparts on the latest development on the Cyprus issue settlement talks, the potential new conference on Cyprus and the latest Turkish demand on the 4 fundamental EU freedoms, that Turkey wants for Turkish citizens in Cyprus after the solution. Foreign Minister Kasoulides was today in Brussels for the External Affairs Council of the EU 28.
6. UNHCR Cyprus commends Cypriot authorities for swift rescue-at-sea of 93 Syrian refugees
Cypriot authorities took the necessary measures to ensure the reception of 93 Syrian refugees, who were rescued off the coast of Pyrgos on Friday night, and address their immediate needs, UNHCR Cyprus said in a statement, expressing its appreciation to the Republic of Cyprus for the swift rescue-at-sea.
7. Three Syrians given prison sentences for trafficking and aiding illegal entry into Cyprus
The Permanent Assize Court of Larnaca-Famagusta announced on Monday the sentences on three Syrians who were found guilty of offences relating to smuggling immigrants into Cyprus and aiding illegal entry into the country.
