A message to EMAG members in the London area from EMAG volunteer Derek Lockhart, who organised the first ever ‘Westminster Walk’ of Equitable Life pensioners In February at the Houses or Parliament.

Dear EMAG member
Our first pilot Westminster Walk was very successful with several EMAG pensioners lobbying their MPs, and our merry band ensuring high visibility to MPs arriving at Parliament. And it was good fun to meet other EMAG members for a chat and a drink. Even if the weather was brutal that day!
Building on this success, we would like to expand the numbers and to ensure we have enough people to maintain a presence every month, attending on a rota if necessary. We would particularly like those in easy travelling range (Greater London) to participate, to save others travelling from much further afield.
To avoid say 6 people arriving one month and 66 the next, we would like to set up two groups — Team A for April & June and Team B for May & July. Just as a guide, nothing set in stone. When you email me to register, please indicate whether you would like to be in Team A or Team B.
We will supply you with tee shirts and placards, and as we move into March the weather will be getting better and better.
Our next walk is on Wednesday 7th March. Assembling 11am outside the Methodist Central Hall in Westminster, Storey's Gate, London, SW1 9NH. I will be there at 10.45 with shirts. Those who already have shirts could go direct to Houses of Parliament, or they might fancy a hot coffee or chocolate in Wesley's Cafe, in the basement of Central Hall. Nearest tube is Westminster.
