Information on Evrychou Village

Evrychou Village is located in the Nicosia District of Cyprus and is near Korakou, Temvria, Agios Theodoros, Kato Flasou and Pano Flasou villages. Evrychou Village has a small population of around 900 inhabitants.

The village is built to an average height of only 500 metres above sea level, which enables an ideal climate for growing agricultural products and is the main agricultural producing village in the Solea region.

The village has a name for it's apples, but also produces apricots, peaches, plums and pears. The climate is also favourable for the cultivation of citrus, almond and olive trees.

Evrychou Village has retained it's traditional character with it's many old houses made from the local stone and wood. The roofs are mostly tiled in the terracotta colour and many houses have the traditional wooden balconies.

The village was a bustling community earlier with it being the last stop on the Cyprus Railways System, which operated from 1915 - 1931. Evrychou Village has the honour of being the location of the Cyprus Railways Museum.
