Information on the Cyprus Transfer Fees payable when purchasing a property in Cyprus

Immovable Property Transfer Fees are payable once you have purchased a property and it is registered in your name. The fees must be paid at an office of the Department of Land and Surveys.
You may find a list of offices here

The fees payable are based on a simple calculation of three bands.

Value from €0 - € 85,430, the fee payable is 3%
Value from €85,430 - € 170,860, the fee payable is 5%
Value from €170,860 and higher, the fee payable is 8%

The Department of Land and Surveys has a Transfer fee calculator to give you a guide as to how much you will have to pay.

Transfers to a Family Company have special rules. The transfer fees are refunded after 5 years, if the Family Company is still the legal owner, and no change has been made to the shareholders of the Family Company since the transfer of the property.
