Information on the Mastic Tree in Simou Paphos

The Simou village mastic tree, or to give it's correct name of Pistacia Atlantica (Atlantic Mastic Tree), is reported to be over one thousand years old.

It has a stem girth of 6.25 metres and a height of 14 Metres.

This type of tree is most commonly found in the Paphos region and therefore the source of the famous Paphos Chewing Gum.

This tree may be found in the Simou Village square, in the Paphos district of Cyprus.

The tree is maintained by the Cyprus Forestry Department and by the villagers.
