The distances in Cyprus are not so long, so travelling by taxi offers a convenient way to travel around the island. Cyprus taxis are easy to spot, they have a yellow badge on the roof of their vehicles.

You may hail a taxi on the street, or at a taxi station. Taxis may also be booked in advance.

There are also taxis that only operate between cities, these are called service taxis. These taxis are shared with other passengers, are normally stretch limousines and offer good value. They may be also be booked in advance. The service taxis will collect and drop off on a door to door basis.

Taxi fares vary according to the time of the day and are calculated on a combination of the distance travelled and travelling time.
