Information on the Arakapas Village Pond No1, which is located in the Limassol District of Cyprus

The Arakapas Village Pond No1 was constructed under the authority of the Cyprus Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The pond formed part of the Pitsilia Integrated Rural Development Project.

The Department of Water Development is responsible for the maintenance of the pond.

The pond was built in 1981, is an earthfill pond with a pvc lining.

The Arakapas Village Pond No1 has a depth of 10 metres and has a capacity of 92,000 cubic metres.

The pond provides a regular water supply for Arakapas Village and is used for local consumption as well as irrigation for the many citrus and olive trees which are grown in the area.
